If the character in question is blatantly black (blatantly being the keyword), then I think it’s preferable that we leave the cosplaying of that particular character to someone who is actually black. However, if there’s like some kind of skin tone that’s difficult to determine (as in of a very light variation of a dark skin tone), then it’s safe to say that anyone can cosplay that character, because what is seen as black by some could be seen as white by others in that case. We can all agree on one thing: No blackface. Unless if you have some temporary skin color changing pills like this guy who was interviewed on Oprah who tried being black for at least a day to see what it was like (of course I wouldn’t recommend taking the pills because of possible side effects), I wouldn’t try it because… well, we know the obvious reason. This isn’t really my best explanation, but that’s just me. (´・ω・｀)
